'She makes you work harder'. Beyond the protocol. You get a clear realisation. It costs; in money, energy and in principle. You do it again and again because they push it and you know it won't change direction. They didn't do it in the past; it's called sensing patterns.

 Marie came down Friday afternoon; showed her round my work, we went to Student Union. Meant a lot; sometimes people just want to meet you near them. Chartreuse, red wine, sangria, Belgian quad all good. Prosecco was pricey; went with the Unwined moment.

There was no train to Huntingdon- so they laid a cab on for us. It's a fair drive from Finsbury Park. Bed late, up earlyish. Jogged to train station. Did some funnel managing at Tooting Common Parkrun. Nearer from Mum's house but train and tube was fine. I'm vocal, encouraging; the runners liked it. I didn't want to run; better to help others. If i can't get the paid job today i.e Lincoln, Leeds i'll do the volunteer one.

New Sainsburys in Catford; bought a picniccy item. Arrived at Catford Bridge Tavern in good time. Met the boys Colin, Ant, James, Drew. They were going to Swedish midsummer in Hyde Park. I went back via Streatham Hill. Slept a few hours after a few sandwiches. During the 8pm Belgium game i had steak and rice, a cup of tea so felt a lot better. A bit warm to sleep. Enjoy the sun later.

Mon 17th Jun 24

 Can't be profligate; it doesn't always even out.

Took about 6 hrs to go from Huntingdon-Manchester. Bought steels from Peterborough; there was time as i took the earlier train as a cautious prep. Broke them in, wore them. Had a Yorkshire Tea on the train. Saw Luke at Doncaster station. Was rainy in Sheffield.

Fabulous shift at Old Trafford cricket club. The workrate, understanding with the management. Foo Fighters came on just before 8pm; so many memorable songs, a tribute to Taylor Hawkins.I took a video.'I believe i have waited long enough'-what a line from Walk. Felt like i was dreaming. Scooted before the end; didn't want to get caught up in overloaded trams. Didn't want to go to garish places in town; was a good spirit though- i was called Mr Bombastic..long summer vibes. Drunks in Wolverhampton; they were trying to sit in the driver's seat. Stopped in Birmingham; got an energy drink, sandwich, saw some of Spain v Croatia. For some reason we also stopped in Luton Airport so arrived into North London 20 mins late. There was a truncated gym workout; kettlebells but was able to get the first train to Huntingdon. We hung out at the yard ahead of the day's 3 Euros matches. Saw first half of Slovenia v Denmark indoors before catching the second half at our local; no London Pride or red wine- boo.

I liked Bellingham's shoulder charge at a Serbian-who took it quite well. Earlier in the day there had been scuffles in Germany; 'here come the Serbians' but it was mainly throwing plastic chairs. Would've liked to have seen Gordon who is direct but Gallacher, Bowen coming on was exciting enough. Don't know where i'll watch Thursday's 5pm match yet.

Didn't get the 5.08am train from Huntingdon; had a coffee, did the washing up. Walked to town; lovely day, got the 6.10am to Finsbury Park. No time for the gym in Finchley Road. Normally getting up 4am is do-able. Think i'll go back up tonight.

 Good times are coming.

Yesterday we had our Tuesday Club at Ram Brewery; i do support our local guy John- 20 years now. He's the Heston Blumenthal of brewing. From there to Brewdog for fine American beer. Did kettlebells at Wandsworth gym. Next stop Ghost Whale in East Putney. I haven't been to Central London; my bright lights are local. Triceps extentions at Putney gym. Then onto Micro Beers; love the place. Might do a job in Richmond Park so that i can go there after. a punter from Hounslow told me to come again. It was meant to close at 9 but we watched Sunak v Starmer debate- great evening. North Sheen gym was closed after 10pm. Took the 493 to Tooting Broadway. Bumped into Ellie at Spoons there; then took the last G1. Fell asleep with the light on. Used my ventilator in the morning; had a lie in- enjoy the early morning sun.

T20 World Cup, Euros should be good. Thought there'd be more fests on Saturdays; i don't want rest- i want chaos and to be the disruptor.

Was hoping my night out on Friday would be till 11pm but it was 9.30pm.

Train delays Sat morning; waited in Lincoln for over an hour. Stopped in Nottingham en route to Derby; don't see myself going there much now- it's in the past. Did have an energising breakfast; my friend's company lifted me and got me through the Derby shift. We're a well oiled nachine; i know all our products. Mt Mustards cob shop there is closed in the weekend now. We work inside while it's searing outside; that's why i enjoyed my sunny day off yesterday. Had wanted to leave work Sat 8pm but finished 11.15pm. My late night coach was at 1.25am so i killed some time at the Alexandra; one of the staff had also been on all day. Was listening to 80s rock there; Who's Crying Now- Journey. Or is Derby stuck in the past? I don't necessarily like being out on my own but it's part of the work. 

Sunday 7ami had an iced americano at Caffe Neros. Lovely bus ride from Golders Green to Finsbury Park through Hampstead. Went to the gym. Trainspotting in Huntingdon; the new 700 class. Browsing in Aldi before the 10am open; nicely priced chicken. Chupa Chups popcorn from B & M is a thing. Maybe should've gone to Huntingdon town centre yesterday. Slept just before 10am; up about 4am, showered, walked into town, got the 5.08am train.
