New Zealand albatross

New Zealand is a hard act to follow but will give it a worthy shot. Having managed to piss off both B.A and Qantas with various drink demands ;-) but getting Hungarian Mara's details i arrived back on London shore last Fri 6.30am. I did get in some sleep before heading westwards to visit Lara at Ealing Fest. Jetlag? Na, hit the ground running and was good to have some real ales as a counter to Lion Red, though there is a mean version of London Porter in NZ. Saw Hayley play a roaring set, caught up with Mike and Ruth.

Sat went steadily eastwards; Ealing- Soho-Brentwood. The Ship in the middle was a St Pauli meetup. There was a Jam tribute band at Brentwood. The colourful Essex characters.

Sun went to Brighton for a birthday, Mon and Tues was on a Gervais/ Merchant production..we may have found the funniest comedy gold since Del Boy falling through the bar; you could feel the frission..funnier than the Office and Extras put together. Good to hang out with Jed at the Ostler, Uxbridge after.

Wed was a jaunt to Chelmsford; saw JD. Nice chicken satay at the fest 'sabaidee'. The Russian Imperial Porter at 13% was pure burnt tyres and took a while to sink down. There was also the Egalitarian Anti Imperialist Soviet Stout; hear hear, the cold war's over. And Suicider cider (groan at pun). The duck and orange pie wasn't all that.

I was supposed to be in Brighton again today with the guys who arranged Beerfest Asia in Singapore and China but their finger is still firmly lodged in back entry so i await tomorrow. Filming, then the heralded Jolly Butchers in ubercool Stokie and a club night in Ginglik, Shepherds Bush where i expect to see Tushar bang the shit out of the drums and i will do likewise with a girl.
Sat there's a bbq; can do grilled zucchini.
