Witch magazine

The fest opened at 11.30am but there was already a queue at 11.10am. Much more pleasant with more room inside than the previous night. Great talking to punters about stouts etc. Steve told me about Piglet beer fest at Leyton Orient and also imminent is Meet the Brewer (Darkstar)..is that a Ben Stiller movie? Friendly down at foreign beers; loved it. So this time i was at the fest for an hour before scooting off to Lloyds just near the station; caught up with Wilma and Chaz..bottles of Hardys' rose and a roast chicken lunch.

Went for the 4.00 train; so i was going from Norwich to Kingston. Made Jesus Christ Superstar in time; what's the buzz tell me what's happening? Saw it with Emily; supporting Julian who was an apostle..from Jesus lashes to going on the lash. We all met up afterwards in No88 just a few doors down; had a good chat with Em.

Today (Wed) back at work after two days off and refreshed for it; got a lot done. Going to La Gothique's Halloween fest on Fri. Looking forward to throwing witches into the Thames Sun night; clocks go back so more..darkness. Vicky who i met on the train to Southampton is a card; will go to the Beeb for a witch's brew that'll either kill or cure us. Thurs night is Mertsham/ Redhill fest with Daf, Sat hoping to meet with a Gers fan Irish Stu (geddit?)

diary piece

Yeah it was great at Theresa's birthday hanging out with her, Leia, Sarah etc. At the offy near Brixton later got talking to a random person who put fake blood on me..evokes curious looks. Back at 4am.

Sun the short 20 min punt to Farringdon for Celtic Rangers. The Cock tavern in Smithfield which used to do breakfast at 6am now closed so the Gers fans upped sticks to the White Bear. I like the chant 'we are the people'..it was a slow, sozzled Sunday. For Sunday lunch there was a free mountainous buffet; loadsa chicken.

Mon got the 3.00 from LST (Liverpool St), i want to learn all the codes, to Norwich. The fest at St Andrews was to start at 5.30 and the queue was huge but us Camra's are fast tracked in. Had 0.33 of Buffoon's Ribcracker at 8.4%. Saw Kath, Chris, Robert; hung out a bit with Kay and John..everyone in Norfolk wears fleeces. Will and his dad were there; both on good form. Served till 11, went for a Bangladeshi take away. Top night; up till 3.30am.

Tues morning Mike phoned up and said can you fax your timesheet; i said i was in the middle of a field.

Toiling

Work on Wed was slow; a mini 11am-5pm shift, went to Mamuska in Elephant shopping centre (the place of urban dreams)..it's a Polish hangout. In the centre you can get meat bhuna jacket potato and chicken tikka omelette.

The weekend started about 1.30 Fri; me and Scotty went to the Bellevue, Sun and Manor Arms..like Clapham Old Town. Bread and Roses was closed; like the place 'up the workers'..the toilers.

Then Waterloo to Southampton; fast train. City Shuttle; we went to the Platform..someone thought it was in the train station. Pondered the skate wing. On to the Orange Rooms; had the Jammie Dodger shot Dodge's favourite. Should've gone to the Hobbit after till 3am; had a doner kebab pizza.

Sat after a lovely fry-up we went to Ocean Village; sunny Autumn views..Katy's music from her phone drifting into the coastal air. Then to swish Bargate. Train to Woking; changed there. Met Vicky and Amy at Perfect Blend, Streatham Hill. One of the costume ppl from the Bill works there now. Across the road to Theresa's birthday at the Hamlet.

Sky dish

Apparently one of the rooms in the Olde Trip, Nottingham Castle is haunted. Loved the old feel of the place. Wallington went fine on Thurs; Daf, Jill, Andy. Haven't been to the Redhill/ Mertsham fest yet which is on next week.

On arriving in Nottingham i had a chip cob; in Liverpool it's barm and south it's butty. We had a crawl on the Fri night; one of the places had some ppl dressed up as cool cats. Nottingham is the city of caves; bars, restaurants are cut into caves. There's a good feel to the place. One can have chicken tikka with donner, SFC. You get guys at a basketball court just before 2am..

Sat morning went to the legend that is Warsaw Diner..a Polish American eaterie. I had Polish griddled sausage, eggs, waffles..Kiwi and lime smoothie and a vodka shot; that's what i'm talking about! I dig Anish Kapoor's Sky Dish (not a satelite tv thingy); an inverted image of the sky. Was at Nottingham fest with the boys for a couple of hours! Saw Gus and Katherine, before heading back on the coach- with my coronation chicken cob..no hot food allowed on coach. The journey only took 2.5 hrs; i sat in the front.

Went from Golders Green to North Finchley for Champa's wedding reception. A pint soda lime at nearby Tally Ho was 30p but yucky. At venue B4U on telly (it was a restaurant).Sometimes you can play the stranger and see who recognises and comes up to you. Good to see people you see every few years and wish Champa well on her auspicious day. Was a cold night.

Went on the North Circular to Wandsworth where i got off to go to Grand Union for midnight. The lads! Julian, Dodge, Justin. I danced off the reception dinner; a group of us formed a circle for the Greek smashing plates song. There was even a fight later on; one of the blokes was pushed onto me at the bar. The dj diluted the edginess by playing a song about love :) he danced with me after his set. Had a glass of wine at Jul's before calling it a night at 4am.

Sun morning didn't go for breakfast with the others; went from Putney BR to Regent's Park..the ever excellent Citizen Smiths for a whistlestop. I arrived about 10 seconds before Tsuya. The Deutsche Bank art frieze fair costs £25 but she has connections..Saw the Gervais there; thought he'd be taller. Well heeled and eccentric people were in attendance. Loved the art.

A monster sushi buffet in Golders Green after. The tables are sunken into the floor so recreating an authentic Japanese experience. Salmon tail (i used to chase tail) was scrum. We must've had 50 pieces of sushi; you need a crane to lift you out of the low level seating. A pretty full on weekend. Playlist later was Hall and Oates, Level 42, Savage Garden even the Black Eyed Peas..mung beans!

The universe will flow through me freely. No thrills from corruption. No thrills from destruction; it's about purity. I've been humiliated, criticised and insulted enough publicly and privately..I don't want to be hurt anymore; take my pain away. Don't be difficult; i just want to love..we don't want to be pushed away. Ok some jip is entertaining, fun.

You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies; the Social Network

It was called 'the Facebook'..The film gathered tempo..generating excitement. The geeks were in the house and in full effect. The nice looking Mr JT was okay. I liked the poignant ending. A contemporary film about the digitisation of your social life. Coming up next.. the Twitter story; Tweets.

accidental nature of life

Leelee reminded me of Crosby, Stills and Nash i dig 'You don't have to cry no more'.

Did a 7am-3pm shift again at South Bank Technopark; on my first day there Fri i got excited thinking it was an overspill site from Ministry of Sound across the road. Me and Geordie Pete recognised each other from five year ago;
'where's your mullet gone?' he said and it was back in the old swing.

Liked the smiles at Sat's Hugs Day. Mon evening was a mini crawl; Bowls Club, the Bedford and the Regent in Balham.

Tues dropped into a kid's birthday party; Didier is named after a Chelsea player. A party on a Tues afternoon..nice; brandy for the adults. Then i saw 'the Social Network' for review purposes; the accidental billionaire., was exciting watching the film.

Looking forward to Nottingham Castle on Fri evening; the majesty of the setting.

pre Fri blog

Hugs Day on Sat is for dreamers like me; major huggage. There was a free hugger at St Albans beer fest and i instantly felt good..a release.

Want to see my friend Emma at the Bardathon tomorrow; try and have a late lunch break. She is accomplished and want to support her.

Loved the enhanced colours at the end of Matrix Revolutions tonight.
And England Dan's 'Love is the answer' from a bygone era. England Dan's an unusual name. Want to see Wall Street 2; money's alright : ) The Secret says you can draw it to yourself like a magnet.

Synapses

Can't sleep so i saw Chris Brown's Forever and Crawl; love both and the boy can dance. 'That' wedding video has got over 56 million views and is on the Office; Steve Carrell dancing :)I know my friends would also dance at my wedding; they would need no second invitation.

Kate's pho sounds delich; rare beef, fish sauce, cilantro.

What's the best chillout song ever? Synaesthesia- the Thrillseekers or Halcyon-Orbital? Both take you to different places; Halcyon is a mix of slow and fast tempos so seamless it becomes one.

in the doghouse

Me and Dodge went to St Albans Ales; saw Rudolpho there which was delightful. Not the greatest range of ales but was conducive enough for some songwriting on way back.
Thurs caught up with Alison who was a ray of light in what has been a fairly dark vista; so i could visit her in Aberdeen. I have been vitriolic with some people eg train rage but my broadsides are not necessarily without foundation; a lot's been put on me. The execution may not have been spot on but it does show that i have passion; not just beer but a fire in my belly. Full bore. Do you want the truth or something beautiful asks Paloma Faith. Something beautiful..as per a dreamer, romantic. Link me to the universe. An aura where you feel comfortable; not destabilised too much.
Fri was at the Doghouse, not the one i may be in now literally but the Kennington one till 2am. Don't be distant, feel alive..get lost in it. Want success to spiral out of control.

Rolling back the years

Was going to go out and see Chelsea v Arsenal but hermit day meant i-player day. I saw Harry and Paul and i was horrified; no laughter track as people weren't laughing. It was every racial stereotype you can think of; was like a Canning Town pub in the 80's. They had a Japanese saying lingo instead of Ringo, an African traffic warden, guys with boot polish on their face..a la the Black and White Minstrels. Harry Enfield is not funny anymore and they wheeled out.. Lenny Henry; talk about the blind leading the blind. It wasn't making ironic fun; it fuels the ideas of the lowest common denominator, it draws attention to skin colour which in this day and age should be transcended. This comes where making fun of India has been incessant especially by the West re the Commonwealth Games; the press coverage has been nothing but negative..colonial conotations about superiority. The latest BBC bias is towards Kara Tointon on Strictly as she is from Eastenders pedigree. She is at the front of every ident and the judges have clearly been under orders to mark her up; 'falling flat on your arse? Not a problem with us'. Matt Baker looked pretty good.
