Couldn't muster the inclination to go to Norwich today; a tad too far. We'll make it happen another day. In recovery.. cos yesterday met up with Denis and Mick. The meeting point Zeitgeist was an innocuous enough start but the tone was very much retrograde thereafter. Man U were getting their their obligatory 95 mins and got sucker punched. But better to go for it and lose than to die wondering. Next stop that Farringdon starting point the Castle. Downstairs normal, upstairs a Munch event and we're not talking painters. Mistress Ruby was dressed like Janet Jackson from Rhythm Nation. And she had old hands; hello? Neutrogena!
Onto the Bhola in the ever lively Bethnal Green; an Irish immigrants pub from the 50's, 60's. The £2.70 Guinness goes down smooth. The old timers don jackets and ties with jumpers; i'll be there too. You also get ppl here what know the Krays, the Richardsons. I hadn't eaten all day; not Sunday lunch, not a packet of crisps. Met Helen after work in Whitechapel where we went to Barackas; the present Nobel peace prize incumbent takes his name from this fine eaterie. We had rupchanda fish, fish bortha, haleem, whole chicken, lemony snicket rice, coffee floater (better than the captain's floater) and mango juice. Like the decor here. There's a new dosa place in Tooting that i want to check out.

Going to make it three gigs in three nights tonight with the reformed Slits at ULU, Malet St following Deadmau5 and Asakusa Jinta. The venues have been varied; Roundhouse, a working mens club and now a student union. And tomorrow's a little housewarming so we got it all going on :) Prohibition in St Katherines Dock is a good works bar; plenty of suits letting off steam. Was hungry; had steak and eggs after working at Barclays. Good to talk intellectual with a software specialist after some often inane chat.
Conrad put ideas in my head. He travels for a few months, comes back and works and goes off again. Still places i can go to. Anyway tonight ahead of the gig will have one in Lowlander.
