Sportive

What an enjoyable day of sport; Djokovic was imperious in his latest defence of the Australian Open. Then the football; can someone explain Torres' celebration? He has not been scoring every week, gets managers sacked so he should not be doing a shh gesture; he is a first class knob. Leeds and Oldham won; the noise was something else.

Breathe

People have evershifting loyalties; lines of demarcation in all the six inches of snow. Certain people are re-invited. What is sown through grief and pain, and it's hard to breathe. What's been a waste? If things have been over the top then you can also get over the top happiness. Last year's mistakes are not carrying over into this.

Gentlemen start your agreements

Do gentlemens agreements still exist? How many gentlemen are there? In the old days you'd do deals with handshakes; your word was your bond. Do you call in favours or wait for the other to offer? You sometimes have to write it off in a world of chancers. Give something back to the world. I'm so grateful for all that is good in life. The appreciation of what i put out there.

Blue coastal sky in Southend yesterday, the water gently rippling, calm lapping sounds, clearing urban toxins with each breath. Met up with a chatty friend before taking the train back to Fenchurch St; carriage was empty but other end a sea of commuters waiting to do the reverse leg. Walked from there to a birthday in London Bridge; people coming and going there as in life.

Weekend post

Saw trailers for Lincoln and Hitchcock. Daniel Day Lewis is superlative. Hopkins is Hitchcock. The main film was Les Miserables; Hugh Jackman wonderful. It's about learning lessons. He and Anne Hathaway reversed plights. His nemesis Russell Crowe was an unbending, unyielding character. When hope is gone something comes up. There's themes of defiance, subtle changes in fate, leaving legacies. The songs are pertinent and they project.
Pirlo wants Lampard in Italy where he could have four good years 34-38. If anything his vision and passing has got better but little Frank wouldn't want to leave London and that's why spiritually he hasn't been offered a new contract. Be proactive before you're pushed.
You're a shape of light that carries me through the darkness; my Hawaiian gardenia. Faces show stories, truths. The expression you carry.
Routine wins for the Manc clubs on Sun.

philosophical

Right wrongs. Be nice to the right people; some never learn even though you try to see good in them..it's sad really.. Bad luck. Plug away; it's a long road. No-one should be denied happiness. Life can change in so many ways- for the better.

Turn it down

When you go cold turkey there's a great rush and momentum for exercise which is enjoyable. Wasn't madly busy on tubes. So looking forward to Les Miserables; the songs. Does Anne Hathaway ever turn down a film? :-( But Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe will give the film oomph.

Happy 2013

New Year's Eve uploaded photos for a casting agency and then went to an old Irish immigrants club up Krays way near Valance Road where we dropped port into Guinnesses. The vibe was so warm; New Year handshakes..this was unfettered, uncomplicated union of men, and women..set off the evening in right royal fashion. In town wasn't too bad a buzz. Could have used the free all-night transport but opted for a quiet one including watching the Dubliners' 'The Irish Rover' on Jools Holland.
Loved the date today 1.1.2013; largely meditative day. Have tickets to see Jack and the Beanstalk in Croydon for 2.1.13; has Mo from Enders innit..may go.
