'What a lovely Boat Race'. In the old days we used to go to Putney before it became way too busy. Sambrooks have a popup along the route.

Easter Sat

A slight lie in. James Martin left Saturday Kitchen; he was thanking us when we should be thanking him..he looked emotional..what a nice guy. Then caught up with Masterchef; one epi to go. Don't rest on laurels; keep building. Hey Pesto and red wine would work well. Need to buy a water bath and food blowtorch. In Clapham on Thurs there was beer made from pizza; brilliant idea. I hope you love my writing and goes at entertaining you.
Garry Shandling died; he had a ton of empathy, was about the people.
Nordic bar near Oxford Circus was great, friendly..a little different.

Duck n Waffle was open at 3.30am Sat night/ Sun morning. Hope to make it there; with the person i'll tell my secrets to, who'll listen to my silly stories. It's up to me to make people happy; I assume the mantle. I had to leave some people behind.
Today was about toasties, home made burgers dipped in poutine, and trout, vinaigrette.

Why can't we have refugees on speedboats instead of those god-awful dinghies?  Expedite the overdue next step.We want to see smiles. Repair the beautiful spirit. You hear about three year olds put to work. Kids slightly older with calloused hands; overburdened, accelerated lives. The teenagers who have been abused, tortured- now passing on advice; defiance and strength. There are generational gaps. The displaced offer talent, industry, personality not excuses.

Needless to say the 17.22 fast train East Croydon-Clapham Junc was cancelled so I was delayed. The new Waterloo Tap opened yesterday and it's a real good spot from the station under the arches. There's a hole in the road; unsightly but creative spaces pop up in London which is Invitation City. The mad social schedule is matched only by the work hours you put in. Another interesting day ensues.

Wrote what I hope is a good report for someone. The truth will set you free.

Did I finish 5.45? No 6.35.

Work is demanding, family is demanding; other pockets are nice.

Made a poached chicken; allowing it to cool in the stock keeps it juicy and tender. It was a veg stock; based on a Rick Stein Chinese recipe.
Did a 5k run yesterday Sat early doors. Rosie runner was there again; is doing a Postgrad in Musicology at Kings..graduated from Cambridge..my eyes lit up last week..compare to some of the dross I know. Was going into work for four hours but #thebosscandoone Better off going to an art installation; a case of art producing art as the artist's a looker. Her Bora Bora one was good. For me it was bitterly cold. Brixton has a lot of pulse; happenings in container storage spaces. British Rail to Victoria; rail replacement from Hammersmith to Turnham Green.
Wanted French cuisine and the steak tartare was divine. We had Bordeaux one of my faves. It's nice when we're loud and there's hushed tones around us. Back to back crème caramels; having had one the night before. Cote were spot on; nearby was Buenos Aires steakhouse so it's a space and a half. I'd actually heard earlier 'Have you seen those tracksuit bottoms that Kate Middleton wears?' Found out that Leicester had won and reached 60 points.
Worked 9-2.30 today followed by sofa time. Salmon on the smoker, spinach, mac n cheese, mash, veg, a hot Scotch bonnet.
Fri worked 5-5; Clara's belated birthday in the evening and we went to Jaffna House Sri Lankan style. Hoppers did the job. Affordable place. There was a quite gorgeous pic of Helena Bonham Carter in the Standard.
