Walk the walk

Did one of my long walks; Victoria to Streatham via Albert Bridge, Queenstown Road, Clapham Common. The energy levels are okay; Fri night was in a club till 5am..yes out into daylight. Even though it's slightly unbecoming the crowd were friendly and it's a nice release for the mind.
Mon met a friend in Crystal Palace station who was going to the Motor Sports while i was going to Wembley; motor sports was back there after a few years. Walked from Victoria to Baker St which was frenetic while Marylebone was more convivial. Special trains were laid on for fans. Our seats at the stadium were high up which was fine. I didn't feel nervous about Palace. When Phillips coolly scored our contigent went nicely ballistic. In retrospect should've had a mad night in Palace but was mindful of work and faculties; fac :-(
During my lunch break was at Victoria station upstairs with a pint of water watching the world go by. Busy and interesting is no prob; early start tomorrow.. filming as if we're going out so while everyone else is commuter-ish on tube i have to go dressed like 'yeah so bring the Veuve Clicquot, about to hit the big 3-0'. Starting early doors could mean an early finish and seeing a friend from near the location.

One sleep

There was a family bereavement; in shock, hasn't quite registered..going from teary to denying it. Good things can happen in a short time but so can death; the fragility of it all. Accept what we have with grace.

People are busier in the summer, emerging from a more dormant winter. This is braai weather. We went for a picnic at a lake; there was a tree in the middle of it. There were happy looking dogs, a cricket match on the green in whites. On a Sunday she had a sundae with blue sauce. Then we saw the other cricket the IPL final; Mumbai buoyed by Johnson got their first title win. Bhaji and Pollard will be the party protagonists; Mumbai is a good city to party anyway.

One sleep till Wembley. The Palace fraternity will be out in force and show what is good about SE London in the wake of recent events. I told a guy in a Dortmund stronghold to stick a fiver on Palace to win 2-1.

Garlic and Shots in Soho looks good; there's a basement Vampire Bar. Wear gothic clothes and eat as much garlic as you like in this Swedish idea; licy licy. Did want to gorge ourselves at Brazilian Preto on chicken love hearts and salad but for another time.
I'm ready and prepared for a busy week workwise so bring it. Dream the future.

Dismantle

There was a tv presenter from 1978 and you'd assume he'd be dead or be fading away but he reinvented himself as an actor.
Was indecisive today. Liked lifting yesterday; derigging so to speak..how to dismantle a pop-up like Kingston.
One of the Doors passed on; 'this is the end'..when the music's over.

Kodiak moments

My sister went to Lake Como; didn't see George Clooney but did bring back Italian cheese, coffee, wine, limoncello-yum.

I knew Chelsea would win on Wed. At half time we saw the setting red Amsterdam sky and the fan looking up, drawing inspiration. Keano rubbed it in; saying Benfica are bottlers. I just wish Chelsea fans would sing when they're not winning, it was 1-1, you have to support and lift in life..earn success..encourage. I understand many of their fans flew back Thurs night monged from the local delights; Amsterdam hashish. In the film Ted a toy bear does bongs; you have to suspend belief a little. Does John Terry learn? The dignified way would be to wear a suit; he lifted up the trophy without playing which gives you an idea who holds sway in that dressing room.

224 excellent photos at the London Photo Festival. Evocative backdrops, the places you'll still go to, memories of yesteryear, faded splendour, shared ideas, those kodiak moments- bears, weathered faces that tell a thousand stories..a glint in the eye, from enigmatic to embracing serenity, a love heart in the still silence of a Scandinavian glacier, it could be dawn..could be dusk. Velib; Paris had Boris bikes three years before us; why so we do things after? A cigarette in the rain, daily travails.

We had Fosters Radler; you get radler in New Zealand and Germany. Good to quaff at barbies i guess. Saw cage fighting, vampire flicks with crunching noises; Ethan Hakwe's pain in not being able to save his friend from a painful end.

Story makers

Pollard, Zaha and Mancini are tonight's story makers. Mancini was not treated with dignity. Zaha has one more parting gift before his prodigious talents usher in a new era at a higher stage. If we're going up the hard way we'll take that ie away from home.
Pollard's hitting was beautiful. You have to be aggressively pumped.

different sxxt, different week

Palace are on at Brighton tonight and hoping against hope that we pull off an away win even if it's extra time or penalties.
Tomorrow is an evening of milds in Wimbledon, Wed is my friend's gig in the Bedroom Bar (ooh hello), Shoreditch and Thurs is the start of the London Photo Festival.
Yesterday combined cricket and football as the Oval and Zeitgeist are in close proximity; St Pauli won 5-1 while the Longroom is always vaunted even though the rain was on.

Sparks

Two quiet days yesterday and today; had a Bank Hol Mon roast.
David Miller in the cricket was surreal; you just have to back your natural ability. He was humble; thankful for his God given talent. Sometimes if you don't think you'll get something give it a go anyway. Caution leads to defeat. Careful causes you to look for problems. In life it may cost you more not to do something. His captain was beaming. I would rather lose with a higher standard than win with a lower one; you see that in the snooker. Create a spark by trying something different in your mindset.

Maypole

We are the sunrisers. Been recruited to help at a local, inaugural event.
Going to a graffiti photo popup after some filming. It's a day for garden salads.

Birmingham went well yesterday. There was a friendliness, genuineness sometimes missing in London. The attitude of Brewdog was a nice contrast to the genteel quality of the Craven Arms. Had picturesque too in the canal area near the serviced apartments.
An old friend was coincidentally in Brum for work and then bumped into her; axis' meet. Couldn't stay for Birmingham balti.

Saw American Pie the Reunion and the enthralling Trump Murphy match in the snooker.
