Superstar

Saw Cyrus with the lovely Marisa Tomei on the lovefilm stream.

Went to a cracking Szechuan restaurant near Leicester Square; fish head soup, good company..next to Superstar dim sum. Missing the Hong Kong vibe which reinvigorated.

jetlagged

There's an Irish pub in Dubai Airport which was open at 6am and it was rammed. And you can smoke in there; almost looked horrific..a throwback to what is now passe. The punter next to me was a bonzer Aussie bloke who was going to Pakistan for some work. My first trip in 18 months; hold the fine line of domesticity and being on the road..travel together. Life's not adrenalised Billy big bollocks but a love based experience..where you can look into yourself and see the truth. You have to like yourself. Don't be led astray.

From Dubai i had a row of seats to myself to lie across and hit a dream cycle after the week's excess. I did see 127 Hours which wasn't too bad. After the fast Heathrow Express to Paddington, went through Hyde Park; the spirit of the demonstration made me proud. People gathered in the Nag's Head, Hyde Park Corner. Dropped into La Gothique, Wandsworth Common with my luggage and march flag. Ascot Cob to finish off was the best; nutty..is that the drink or me? The attractive demographic here, though not as attractive as my Katie, should be snapped up as wenches at Great British Beer Fest to keep some of the present incumbents on their occasionally webbed toes. They would wait to be asked whereas the status quo proffer themselves; that's the difference. Do you like the global shift from Hong Kong with its carnival Sevens headiness to occasionally ostentatious Dubai to the people power to Wandsworth Common? 'Jetsetter, go- getter' as Ne-Yo sings.

Beer blog

Couldn't go out tonight; sometimes you just have to hide, regroup and end up watching visual veg like Noel Fielding dancing Kate Bush style. Did go to the Kernal Brewery earlier by way of a fast train to London Bridge. So under the railway arches is the brewery; i saw Evan at the Ram and i served him at Earls Court. The Camra lot hung out; i had black IPA and Redemption. One of the guys from the Rake turned up where you can get great cans. Then saw the end of South Africa's cool chasing down of 296; Peterson's six was a pretty marvellous shot. In the footy liked Nasri going after Scholes for a bad tackle.

Fri morning got to Hove; seagulls on the road and on top of cars. Me, Rudolph and Kim talked spirituality. Jim who runs a cider website real-cider.co.uk is engaging and enthusiastic about his craft. After the morning session went to the shore before meeting up with Daffy and co. Bouncer had a spare ticket so i was back for a bonus session. Rudolph's evening wear was the beer towels coat.

Mon was Meet the Brewer and it was the undistinguished Bristol at the Cask. The raspberry one aside their range lacked any semblance of taste thereby forcing me to go for the German Rothaus. Met up with Danish enthusiast Ole. Thankfully i didn't go to the Wenlock on Tues; recharge.

Wed and Thurs evening was spent at the London Drinker with various personnel.

Fri's words

What is the opposite of pain? Water the seeds of the opposite nature; they will bring about transformation at the base of our consciousness. Peace and beauty. Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.
