Valentines

Celia's tagine was a cracker; the aubergine. On Valentines Day we went to the Shard; it opened on Feb 1st so it's nice to go at the start of something..the idea came to me when i was at Norton Rose down the road earlier in the week. The last slot of just before 4pm was just right as we had day and night views. It may not be the biggest building in the world but the view offers up life; London is its own selling point. If you had forgotten the Queen's River Pageant and the Olympic euphoria here was a reminder of London's glory. The 360 view has something for everyone; Battersea Power Station, Crystal Palace transmitters, Canary Wharf, Wembley, St Pauls. Saw the river and trains snaking round; the meander of the Thames. Blue skies, golden skies, city lights..dreams at altitude. I can't recommend the vistas highly enough.
Afterwards went to buzzing Fish! in Borough Market for oysters..you gladly top up. Beautiful Valentines music at Casa Cuba.

Snow

Enjoyed the snowy sky; we didn't get the two feet of snow that the States did.

Sport update

How did Wales win in France? Leigh Halfpenny was immense; France might get the wooden spoon. England could win in Ireland Sunday; they're good enough to beat the All Blacks..At the same time as Wales winning Southampton beat Citeh.
Bale has the same histrionics as Ronaldo. And hairstyle. On a footy forum Cleverley was likened to Iniesta..Swansea play tiki-taka like Barca.

'Have you ever been to a Harvester's before?'

Went to Harvesters for the first time, in Beulah Spa; the thinking man's Wetherspoons..nice..unlimited salad and fizzy pop. Next time i'll wear a suit; promise. 'Please put down the glue; there'll be no sniffing of that shit in here'.

Found Caitlin Moran on Twitter who has been 'writing the fuck out of shit'; well when you put it like as sassily as that. Ronnie Irani put Paul Gascoigne on a plane to dry out; respect for that. As a cricketer Irani never took shit from anyone. Apparently Chris Evans also put Gascoigne Arizona bound; he used to hang out with Gaz and down a Guinness in 12 mins..

People who think outside the box get things done; a touch of the unconventional gives you more of a starting point than those who just watch and want to cash in on your chips. Crazy enough to try it. Some can create out of nothing at all; dorks can't do that. Especially insidious ones. Shit finds it's own level and is uncomfortable with vaunted coolness.

Excitability is relative. Add measured to it and stand back when you can sense a certain vibration. When people judge you they're the ones who get surprised when you come back with more. Sometimes you look at what's around you and say 'actually i quite like myself'; gives you comfort. It needn't be a losing battle you fight but a winning one; it turns into one. Some people go on a pub crawl..on Valentine's Day. Singletons devoid of romance; the romance..of beer. Traditions don't have to be eschewed. There's no shame these days..Valentine's bar crawl. I'll be in doting mode..affection.
