Yesterday went for a run 6.30am, got the papers on the way back. Out again just after 2.30, walked from Westminster Bridge to De Hems for a half. Saw the first 10 overs of Aus v Pak at the Marquis of Glanby; the match was already looking good and we know what happened later. Maybe Pak should've got 200. The Aus psyche of self belief, not giving in is admirable.
Went over to the nearby Curzon Shaftesbury Avenue for the Bill Hicks film q&a. A punter was looking for a ticket the performance having sold out. I spoke to the guest lister and managed to get her one. Usher got us five seats together at the back.
Fascinating 'biopic'; before one of his first shows he asked the other comics 'what's a good drink to have?' they said maragarita so Hicks gets himself 7 of them before unleashing his act. It was Channel 4 that made him big here.
Plenty of possibilities on a Fri night; Scott wanted to meet up, Andrea and co were going for sushi, there were mates at the Montague Pyke Spoons..i met up with Howard. At Tottenham Court Road bumped into Steve who i hadn't seen in years; he had been nicknamed Commander Bond for his suaveness.
Howard's local the Crown in Angel is nae bad; had a nice chat with some of the regulars, i'll be back, still like meeting new people. Went to How's flat then i got to Life in Barbican 12.30am for a free late night rave; was Horton's birthday. Him, Conrad and myself are of similar age, know our tunes and how to dance. I had sho chu, bought Horton hot sake and stayed till 4am. In bed 5.15am for a few hours.
