My days are hectic. 9am I was out to see the rugby; brutal, an energising watch. Were the Lions settling for a draw? NZ hate losing? Would've loved that. Series finished I can do and marshal Parkruns. Then took the tube to Morden; a trip I don't do much. Got there in good time. Our crew was forming; I said to two guys 'Are you waiting for Chris?' We owned the tube from the start of the line; exploding cans, singing. Outside Halfway House is always a good spot; did have a year off last time. There are us straight guys that go; the etiquette is not to get a hard on as lesbians get offended. Bumped into the lovelies Natacha, Stacey and Sharon. Absorbing my East German friend Con into British events like Tate Modern Tap Takeovers and yesterday. The atmosphere was electric and we were sparking. Wanted to stay on but leave I had to as was going to Northampton for a remembrance. There was time for a Pina Colada beer in the Euston Tap. The trip takes 52 mins from Euston so had a chorizo ring and a nap.
At Milton Keynes I saw purple people; the theme of the evening so I said 'Are you going to Claire's?' Bump into everyone. I wanted to say my goodbyes to her. She used to walk this Earth and now she doesn't. Went to an old school café; frankfurters, burgers. I hadn't been in Northampton for 20 years. Cheap; Northern holiday. At the wake we formed a circle of love for her and linked hands. We knew she was watching out for us.
So darned hot there. Had Banks, Wainwrights. My train this morning was at 6.20am so had the day to myself. It was sunny in the common at 9am. I'll have to make time for the gym, some articles. Tonight Guoman Tower A hotel, Tower Bridge; tomorrow Scarfes at Rosewood Hotel, Holborn for jazz. Sat was out for 16hrs.
