Summer hols
After yesterday's searing sun it's all awash today and how am i gonna hang out the washing?
I got back into town 5.40am ahead of schedule. Went to New Malden in the afternoon; the Kingston connection. Woodies was badly understaffed. Did a takeout from a Korean place. Bumped into a friend in Tooting; the impromptu ahead of an early night..was done by 10.20pm.
Fri was up early in earnest for a trip to the North. All fine till we got to Peterborough and sat like lemmings; time is valuable. And there better be compensation for the 6hr train journey. Me and Nick went straight into a steak lunch at the marina. We went up the tower for a blustery view of the Hartlepool; the beach, football club. A narrow, windy walk down the church stairs..like the history of the town there. Was called Russell Brand by someone; standard. The High St's quiet; no rush hour. Met Nick's missus and it was nice to chill with a cuppa..a friendly cat took to me, one of the others more adventurous.
Had a fantastic, invigorating walk in Summerhill park; the peace that i wanted. Evening dindins was a special only the North would provide..from the tower to a tower burger..triple burger, triple cheese, doner meat, chips and don't forget the salad. It's more a challenge thing; is eatable and was great at the end of the evening before a coach overnighter. I remember the accent, the friendliness. Some twats at Middlesbrough holding everyone up; 'give me more time' to find the tickets. The coach stopped at Milton Keynes, Golders Green.
This was a trip on top of a trip having come back from Europe the previous evening; a 1hr coach delay at Gatwick as the driver was sleeping
